Does Kwikset Halo Touch work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, partially. The fingerprint sensor and keypad work without Wi-Fi. Only the remote app control requires Wi-Fi.
If your Wi-Fi goes down, you can still unlock the door with your fingerprint, keypad code, or mechanical key. Wi-Fi is for remote control and status alerts only.
How long do Kwikset locks last?
Kwikset Signature Series is rated for 25+ years of normal use. SmartKey Grade 3 is rated for 10-15 years. Halo Touch mechanical components match SmartKey Grade 2 life (about 15-20 years), with electronic components having separate aging.
