Acura uses Honda's HISS (Honda Ignition Security System) immobilizer across all models since 1998. The underlying technology is identical to Honda - same chip types, same programming protocol, same OBDII procedures. Our Autel IM608 Pro handles Acura and Honda identically, with brand-specific variants automatically detected from the VIN.
For 2013+ Acura smart key models (TLX, RDX, MDX, RLX), programming includes both the transponder chip and the proximity fob. Both are programmed in the same session. Smart key programming takes 5-15 minutes longer than transponder key programming for the same model year.
